FILTER Frontman To Take Part In Online Chat
May 1, 2008On Friday, May 2 at 12:00 p.m. Pacific, FILTER frontman Richard Patrick will partner with Meebo to host a unique live chat with fans about his band's new album, "Anthems for the Damned", available May 13.
Utilizing Meebo's online chat platform, Patrick will field questions and interact with users around the world via a real-time video and audio feed at www.officialfilter.com/livechat, Meebo, a prominent web-based instant messaging and chat service, has championed new music releases from a variety of high-profile and up-and-coming artists including FILTER. The chat and album release will be heavily promoted through Meebo's fast-growing user base of over 8 million people.
Patrick's live chat is another component in a long list of initiatives setting up FILTER's return. The first single "Soldiers of Misfortune" from "Anthems for the Damned" is currently climbing both Alternative and Active Rock radio charts. The band has also partnered with internet music sites iLike, Imeem, AT&T Blue Room and MySpace to offer listening parties, track-a-day song leaks and other exclusive content to promote the release. On April 24, the band kicked off its summer tour in Austin, which will span the entire U.S.
The single "Soldiers of Misfortune" became available for download on April 29 and the full album "Anthems for the Damned" hits stores on May 13.
